Tutorial 30 - a really quick dress

I did start my angel - I promise, I just didn't get it finished....
Instead I made a really quick dress for one of my girls, since they're already asleep you'll have to see pictures with her wearing it tomorrow.

I've had this knit fabric laying in my stash for a little while - I've so wanted to make something out of it and I have been picturing the dress I'm showing you guys today - and then I'll see tomorrow if it really worked!

On a totally side note - our 6 month old cat died today, so my daughter didn't fall asleep until 10 pm - I bet she'll be tired in the morning...
so I id torture her anyway.... better pictures tomorrow
This is The Dress with an Attitude - my girls are getting bigger, and I think it's so much fun to sometimes dress them in something that has something to say!
Lay the fabric folded - if you girl isn't older than 7 - the sleeves will be long enough like this.
Put a shirt over the fabric, with the sleeves straight out to the sides. Cut around the shirt, make the under-the-arms rounded. Make the dress longer than what you want the end result to be.
Make sure the dress matches on both sides.
Sew the top of the sleeves on both sides of the neckline - right sides towards right side.
If you need to make the neckline bigger, you cut down the front of the dress.
Tuck in the neckline and sew around it.
Sew from underneath the sleeve and all the way to the bottom of the dress.
I left the ends of my sleeves and the bottom of my dress with raw edges - it's that attitude...
Get two pieces of elastic, start underneath the arm, pull as your sewing down to the waist on both sides.
The dress with the attitude...

so so tired...

her idea!
My daughter can't sleep- at 10:45 pm, she just tried it on - can't torture her with pictures at this hour, but yes, she's got ATTITUDE!

I guess this was my last tutorial - at least of the 30 tutorials of November!
I hope you've enjoyed the ride, tomorrow I'm starting advent season - and I promise this won't be the last tutorial I do.

Very cute dress! I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets attitude from my model! :)
