Weekend plans and TGIE

wow - just realized I haven't posted since Monday, guess it's been a busy week. But today it's TGIE - Thank God it's Easter. In Norway we celebrate Easter kind of big - all schools and kindergartens are closed from today and until Tuesday or Wednesday April 26th or 27th - which in my case means 10 days off from work. I LOVE IT.
Today I've been out in the garden looking for spring. I love this time of year - something about all the little signs we're moving towards summer. I need some warm weather right about now.
During my Easter vacation I want to finish some projects. And most of all I want to relax and see some friends.
I also need to get some work done in the garden - getting it ready for summer and plants and flowers.
We call the Daffodils for Easter Lilys
And of course, like always, weed grows so much faster than the real flowers.
Sew Mama Sew is running a series on how to make e-patterns. I will be reading these posts.
And tomorrow, I'm visiting a good friend.

Be blessed, Tone

Weekend plans

KoJo designs and Craftiness isn't optional are hosting a new thing April 11th - and I love it - it's a blog-series of knock-offs - me like. I've already made one knock-off and have to make the other twin one tomorrow. these will be almost identical, it's not often I make them similar clothes but I just loved the fabric so much.
This dkny dress is my inspiration - sorry for the bad picture.

I'm also having Sunday school this weekend - talking about God's hero - you and me. I love teaching Sunday school - and I think this topic is SO important for the little ones to hear - they need to know NOW that God needs them and that He wants to use them.

This is my weekend, what is yours?

One thing I WILL do this weekend

What a beautiful Saturday morning. The sun is shining and we woke up late - Lynn (one of my twins) woke up at 7, but I managed to get her to fall asleep again and we all woke up at 8:30 - nice.

My girls are going to their very first sleep-over at their best friend's house tonight - exciting for both girls and mommy.
And mommy... I WILL go out with a friend tonight - I think I have going-out-girlfriend's nights like three times a year, so I'm going to enjoy myself.
Other than that I think I will try and finish A Bowl Full of Lemons' challenge last week. I should have been finished last week, I'm not, but I am getting there. Toni at this site is such a good organizer. And she might not know this, but she is a real good help to me, getting my house organized. Those that know me, know that I was towards the end of the line when tidiness was handed out.
But I am slowly getting there - I created a calendar in January helping me to create one new housy habit every month. In March I'm working on my finances - this challenge couldn't have come at a better time. In April I will be working on tidying the table every day (no, I don't already do that).
In order to finish all my challenges I have bought a binder - as advised in this post.  I love the look of my pink binder - and the closing button. So cute.
The boxes are from a set from Norwegian designer Tilda (Tone Finnanger) She creates the most beautiful stuff and she gives out a lot of craft books - they are even translated into English.

And I'm very excited about next week when round 1 of SYTYC starts. Make sure you check back on Monday to vote for your favorite.

Be blessed, Tone

A heart for Japan, and weekend plans

I've been wondering what I could do for Japan - besides setting the focus on the tragedy with yesterdays silence. Then it occurred to me - I could make hearts looking like the Japanese flag and sell them on my Epla-store (Norwegian Etsy)

So ONE thing I WILL do this weekend, is make more hearts.

I will sell them for 60 nok - about $ 10 - and all the money I "make" on these will go to Red Cross Japan.

Other plans this weekend is finish up some other projects and finish up my budget, debt snow-balling and envelope system - you can read all about it here.

Have a blessed week, Tone

One thing I WILL do this weekend

I just received a phone call telling me I'm getting a visitor this weekend, so I have to change all my plans. But I didn't really have any big plans anyway.

I will be working on my next SYTYC project.

I will have to do some laundry.

I also want to make a pattern for the squirrel for the clothes rack - and post it here.

The ONE thing I want to do for me, though, is... mmh, I think I want to go to the second hand store tomorrow, yes, that's what I will do.
But most importantly I will be praying for Japan and all the people affected by the earth quake. My sister-in-law is from Japan - all of her family is counted for, praise God.
Be blessed, plans or no plans. Tone

Oh JOY - and the ONE thing I will do this weekend

Today has been a truly good day. I got a package claimer in my mail yesterday and I knew it had to be the books I ordered from Amazon - JOY.

My three books
I really would like to make my own patterns for clothes - it is very easy to spot those bloggers who know what they're doing when making clothes and those that make nice clothes, but the clothes don't really fit, know what I mean? There is a tug here and a pull there..

Super cute clothes
So I ordered three books from Amazon - two on making patterns and one with patterns for children's clothes. I can't wait to dig into them.

Lace-trimmed coat
After I picked the books up from the post office, I took the girls to water world - we stayed in the water for four hours - they had a blast. There was even an outside Jacuzzi - with a patch of snow next to it - and of course the two six year olds dove into the snow and then went into the jacuzzi - tough girls. (I did NOT).

This one looks really good

The ONE thing I will do this weekend... mmmh, I've told the girls we're doing dome more tidying tomorrow, and we're building an expedit Ikea shelf to get more clothes out of the way. I also have Sunday school on Sunday. but the ONE thing I want to do this weekend is to go for a walk in the sun with my girls. We still have a lit of snow, but I would love to go for some sort of picnic with them - enjoying the sun.

Last weekend I did get to do the ONE thing I wanted - I finished the skirts for the Once upon a thread challenge - and I have started on the tops, hopefully they'll be finished this weekend.

Very sophisticated

Happy weekend, be blessed, Tone

One thing I WILL do this weekend

It's finally Friday again, the girls have been to swim class and they are finally in bed. I'm sitting here by the computer, trying to find some inspiration through other blogs, read what others are up to and just loving the idea of a Saturday and a Sunday without too many plans.

I have asked my mother to watch my girls tomorrow so that I can tidy my house a little bit. so it doesn't look like a tornado went through it. I would also like to get some sewing done. I have people waiting for projects - and it's not a nice feeling. One of them has waited too long - I need to get it done.

I also have to read some boring laws about education before Monday, I kind of skipped out of work early and because of that I have to finish this task. But I want to do something for ME, just for me. Something nice, relaxing and fun. I think I will...
design something for the Once upon a Thread competition - that's something I WANT to do, something inspiring, relaxing and fun...

The pictures above are from my sewing corner - it does look a little more sewed into right now. Another area of my house that needs tidying. The pillow was a birthday present from my girls to a friend.

Have a nice weekend, I hope you get to do something nice, just for you as well.
Bless you, Tone
