It is my turn to take part in the Zierstoff Blog Tour!
Zierstoff Sewing Patterns is a German pattern Company, offering patterns from baby, kids, teens and women. They have a Whole variety of patterns and I got to choose freely from them for this tour. I chose to do a little selfish sewing this time around and I chose a pair of pants, a shirt and a bolero jacket. the Svea pants is a comfortable loose pair of pants for summer. Melissa, the cardigan is a bolero style cardigan and Sue is a boatneck shirt.
I made my Melissa in a grey French terry, and I love everything about this pattern! I know I will wear this a lot. It was a very fast sew and I love how comfortable it is, while I can still wear it to work.
I made two Sue shirts. One where I color blocked it - the shirt comes in two versions, but has the option of a thisr option. The neck opening can be much wider, or as the two I made closer to the neck. I have worn this striped one a lot. The fabric I used had vertical stripes, but a four-way stretch, so I turned the stripes horizontal.
My second Sue is a short sleeved Version - and I know I will wear this a lot for work.
I used a thin jersey fabric, and it has a Nice fit. I chose to make the neckbinding into a band on this one.
I used a rather thick fabric for the pants, and it has some stretch to it. I slimmed the pattern down, because of the weight of my fabric. I really like them and they are super comfortable.
I am really happy about how my clothes turned out, and all four of them will get worn a lot.
+ easy sewing
+ fit is generally good
+ easy to understand directions
+ lots of nice patterns
- make sure you measure the length - both the pants and the sleeves are long on me. But then again, it's better they are too long than too short.
